Today will mark my very first online art challenge entry. I will be posting to Paint Party Friday. Creating this mixed media piece was a new adventure as I never previously used fabrics in this manner. I enjoyed using the inks to enhance the texture of the two different laces and the threads. It was also my first foray into "sewing" with wire. I will definitely be incorporating more wire in my projects!

Hello, World!
So glad you stopped by to explore my new blog. 🐰 🎨 🐾
About two and a half years ago, I went to a local "sip and paint" with my grown daughter. We had a blast and my first creation turned out so good that it hangs on the wall in my living room. With a satisfied grin on my face and a paintbrush in my hand, I have never looked back. Which is interesting because all my life I proclaimed that I couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler. My forte was stick figures! However, I have discovered those beliefs were lies. Isn't it strange how we say some things so often that we begin to believe them? I'm so glad I took a risk and proved myself wrong.
Since that first (and multiple) trips to the "sip and paint," I have taken 2 online classes and am currently participating in Wanderlust 2017. I am also dipping into prompts from The Documented Life 2015 (free) and regularly scouring YouTube videos and other freebies as I work on building my skills, learning about new media, and creating up a storm of work. My dining room has been transformed into my workspace and supplies are spilling out of new storage pieces and cluttering nooks and crannies in the pantry.
A recent email alerted me to the existence of art challenges. Intrigued, I began sniffing around some very interesting sites and decided to create this blog so that I can participate and travel a new path in the adventure that has lead me here.
Please come back to visit and see what I am learning and sharing with the world!
